Kissing Commutors Encouraged By Competition

In contrast to the story regarding a ban on kissing in a British train drop off and boarding zone, another railway station set out to encourage kissing commuters to let their caboose support their passions.

After Virgin Railways implemented regulations banning kissing, Chiltern Railways went full opposite. The results are this newly posted sign suggesting that an emphatic support for loving displays of affection are welcome.

“Unlike other train companies, we would never dream of banning kissing at our stations" the company has stated. With this positive and creative attitude, they've also moved one step ahead. The company has created a photograph competition in search of the most romantic passengers. Couples are being asked to send in pictures of themselves kissing their partner in an operator's station.

Kirsteen Robertson from the Chiltern Railways said “Railway stations are romantic places; they are where fond farewells and emotional reunions take place, where relationships start with a glance and even, in the case of our Marylebone station last November, where one passenger will propose to another over the public address system!

So our passengers are more than welcome to share a kiss in our stations,” she said.
